FAQ

Why do we lift our hands?

Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and praise the LORD (Psalm 134:2). I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing (1 Timothy 2:8).

Why does the whole congregation pray at once for specific needs?

When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God. "Sovereign Lord," they said, "you made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and everything in them"(Acts 4:24).

Why do we anoint with oil and pray for the sick?

Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven (James 5:14-15). They will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well (Mark 16:18).

Do you believe in deliverance and cast the demon out?

Some of the people in our community are bound and harassed by demons. We believe in setting the captives free as commissioned by our Lord Jesus Christ in the Great commission mentioned in Mark 16:17. We are driven by love and compassion to set people free from addictions and things that drive their life towards destruction.

Why do we speak in tongues and have interpretation of tongues?

For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my mind (1 Corinthians 14:14,15).

Therefore, my brothers, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues (1 Corinthians 14:39).

If anyone speaks in a tongue, two — or at the most three — should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret (1 Corinthians 14:27).
